Guofeng Art Signage and Wayfinding Systems

This is a set of signage guidance systems specially designed for the China Guofeng Art Museum. Located in Longhua, Shenzhen, the project is built by Galaxy Holding Group to focus on the power and influence of contemporary art and all kinds of young artists. Before designing, the design team meditated on how to further match signage design with the art philosophy of “national style and national trend” of the Guofeng Art Museum. Finally, they select the base of the traditional Chinese seal, into which the Chinese knotting, paper cutting, calligraphy and other traditional elements are integrated. Among them, Chinese knotting is the most salient in that it is widely used in this museum signage.

The bright red is conspicuous in the gray-colored museum, which is highly noteworthy and memorable. Considering that most of the exhibits in the museum are the understanding, creativity and heartfelt work of young contemporary artists about traditional&modern Chinese art,the design team integrates the traditional Chinese culture signage with three-dimensional techniques in the signage design, for better matching the fusion and integration of modern and ancient characteristics of the exhibits. Combining classical culture with modern visual art, this system perfectly shows the profound connotation of exquisite and elegant and “less is more”in the concept of "national style and national trend".
